Austral Cables provides a full installation services for all domestic ‘post tensioning’ foundation applications from the smallest domestic townhouse to the largest exotic mansion.

Even if your residence has been designed using a conventional raft system or other footing system, Austral Cables will re-design your footing system to use our state of the art ‘post tensioning’ system at no charge, utilizing our in house specialist engineer.

COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS

Austral Cables provides a full installation service for all commercial foundation systems. From factories, to sheds, to warehouses, to offices, to motels, to hot houses, to driveways under load, a system can be designed and installed to suit your needs.

PROCESS

Through the use of Steel Strand, commonly known as Tendons or Cables, strand is laid across the foundation in a sectional pattern at intervals specified in the engineered computations. If a ‘Raft’ foundation is utilized the Strand is also laid in the trenches.

After the foundation is cast, tension is then applied to the strand, placing the foundation under compression. Foundations that are under tension or compression are considerably stronger than those that have not been tensioned, for example a conventional footing system.

This system and technology has in the past been utilized in the construction of large bridges, overpasses, multi-storey car parks and large building complexes.
